The Trade Federation was a very powerful commerce guild, trade cartel, megacorporation, and lobbying group founded as a collection of bussiness and trade group. It also had it own fleet.

The Trade federation then pledged it's loyalty to Count Dooku and the Confederacy of Independent Systems despite claiming to be neutral in the Clone Wars.
